The number of debtors declaring insolvency in Australia has fallen in the June quarter of 2014, as reported by The Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA).
In Australia, the statistics for personal insolvency fell 10.1% compared to the March quarter in 2014, with the greatest drop being in regional Victoria with 15.6%. The number of debtors entering a business related personal insolvency also fell in the June quarter, dropping to 18.1% compared to personal insolvencies the March quarter with 7,655 cases.
The areas with the highest business related personal insolvencies in NSW included Wyong, Mount Druitt and Campbelltown.
Greater Brisbane was the main contributor for debtors going into business related personal insolvency with North Lakes holding the highest proportion of debtors in the March quarter.
